Hello again! Well this week we're back with even more PowerShell fun. Aaron Nelson returns and this time he's brought friends along in K. Brian Kelley and Grant Fritchey! So far we've seen how to check up on who has access to our servers and checked in with our DBA coach. As we've seen before, PowerShell is a powerful and extremely helpful tool in the data professional's toolkit.
Also, as a reminder, in a few short weeks SQL Rally is coming up in Orlando! If you haven't already, you should register and attend as it will be a fantastic training opportunity. In fact one of our professors this week, Grant Fritchey, will be hosting a pre-con event on Query Performance Tuning! There will also be some other great pre-con events such as the Business Intelligence Workshop being put on by my peers from Pragmatic Works as well! What are you waiting for? Clik here to view.Aaron Nelson ( blog| twitter) is a Senior SQL Server Architect with over 10 years of experience in Architecture, Business Intelligence, Development, and Performance Tuning of SQL Server. He has experience managing enterprise wide data needs in both transactional and data warehouse environments. Aaron holds certifications for MCITP: Business Intelligence Developer, Database Administrator, Database Developer; as well as MCTS: Windows Server Virtualization, Configuration (meaning Hyper-V).
Aaron helps run the AppDevand PowerShellVirtual Chapters of PASS, and volunteers for the local PASS Chapter AtlantaMDF. He also co-runs the Atlanta PowerShellUser Group, and helps organize SQL Saturdayevents in Atlanta.

He is a contributing author for How to Cheat at Securing SQL Server 2005 (Syngress), Professional SQL Server 2008 Administration (Wrox) and Introduction to SQL Server (Texas Publishing). Brian currently serves as a database administrator / architect for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank where he can concentrate on his passion: SQL Server. He previously was a systems and security architect for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank where he worked on Active Directory, Windows security, VMware, and Citrix. In the technical community, Brian is president of the Midlands PASS Chapter, an official chapter of PASS. Brian is also a junior high youth pastor and certified Awana Commander at Spears Creek Baptist Church in Elgin, SC.

He has worked with SQL Server since 6.0 back in 1995. He has developed in VB, VB.Net, C# and Java. Grant volunteers at PASS and is president of the Southern New England SQL Server Users Group (SNESSUG). He has authored books for Apress and Simple-Talk and joined Red Gate as a Product Evangelist in January 2011.
